I'm Etienne, a native German who found a new home under the warm sun of Cyprus. After I bought my house, I soon was interested in getting a Solar PV System installed. The electricity in Cyprus is quite expensive and also from an enviromental standpoint it made a lot more sense than using power created by burning fossil fuels. While searching for information for my own PV system, I realized how difficult and oldschool the whole process of getting a Solar PV system in Cyprus really is. Pages and Pages of paper contracts, long waiting times, specific rules and regulations.

I requested quotes from many different solar system installers and got wildly differing quotations.
For my 7kw system, i got quotes ranging form 7.000 Euro up to 12.000 Euro. The surprising thing was, the most expensive company used equipment I viewed as inferior to the cheapest company.
It became clear to me that prices vary a lot, and you have to compare before you make a decision.
But the process of getting quotes and comparing was not digitalized at all, you have to call, explain to every installation company what you want, maybe you don't speak Greek and important details might get lost in translation. You wait a couple of days, then if you're lucky you get a quote.
Do that 4-5 times with different suppliers and now you can compare. The process is stressful and takes time.
